More Useful Information 1) Viewing maps
a. Download the CPC View (fully functional $29.95 viewer), or the CPC Lite (free limited trial version). Find the CPC link on the maps page.
b. Save the downloaded software. It must be re-installed each time you upgrade or re-install your browser (Internet Explorer, etc.).
c. Follow installation procedure.
d. Click on the appropriate blue map link (map number) on the search results/list page.
e. Or, choose a county from the maps page.

2) Navigating maps
a. The navigation frame will appear below the map.
b. Primary Maps grid is on the left, Secondary Maps is on the right.
c. The navigation works basically like the paper maps in the Assessor's office, a grid system.
d. A graphical and text version of each county grid can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate link above the Primary Maps navigation grid.

3) Printing maps
a. Click "File" from the top Menu Bar then click "Print" from the drop down menu.
b. In the print dialogue box, select the printer driver from the drop down menu.
c. Check "Current View," "Match Printer Page Size," and "Auto Orientate" if the dialogue box contains these items. Exact wording may vary slightly.
d. If "Quick Print" is a setting, try it on and off to determine which is best.
e. A few HP printers will not work with CPC products at all. See Trouble Shooting for
specifics.

4. Subscribing
a. Go to the following page for a description of services.

b. Choose payment method at the bottom of the same page.
c. Print the payment page.
d. Fill out the payment page.
e. Fax or mail as instructed on the payment page.

5. Printing labels
a. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader (free), download it. Most computers
already have Acrobat Reader for one reason or another. http://www.adobe.com
b. Save the downloaded software. It must be re-installed each time you upgrade or
re-install your browser(Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.).
c. Follow installation procedure.
d. Once you have produced the desired Search Results List, go to the bottom of the page and click the "Get Mailing Labels" link.
e. Check the boxes and fill in the blanks where requested then click the "Get Labels" button.

6. Searching

TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. Map printing too small.

When you click "print" from the "file" menu or the printer icon, a print dialogue box will appear before printing begins. Make sure the "Match printer page size" box is checked. Exact wording may vary slightly.

2. Labels misaligned.

a. Make sure you are using the correct label size.

b. If the top labels are well positioned and the bottom ones are not, turn off "Match Printer Page Size" on the "Print Dialogue Box" which appears immediately after the "Print" command or the printer symbol is clicked.

3. Prints blank page first.

HP acknowledges that there can be problems printing Internet graphics on DeskJet series printers. One of the reported symptoms is that the printer ejects a blank page. They recommend installation of the universal Microsoft printer driver appropriate for your printer. For most DeskJet printers, the appropriate universal driver is

the Deskjet 550C driver. Similar issues affect the HP OfficeJet Pro 1150C and 1170C series. Similar issues affect the HP LaserJet series. Other Mapping issues can be found at the following page. http://www.cartesianinc.com/Help/CPCViewD-5.html

4. New Subscriber is still not getting pay level info.

a. Make sure you are using the correct username and password. If you have forgotten one or both, go to the "Pick-a-County" page, scroll to the bottom and request same by inputting your e-mail address. The e-mail address must match the one used when originally registering.

b. Clear your cache by following the instructions below depending on the type Browser (internet viewer).

If Internet Explorer, then:

Go to "Tools" on the top menu and click
Go down and click on "Internet Options"
Click the "General" tab if it is not already active
Click "Delete Files" in the "Temporary Internet Files" box
Click "OK" at the following prompt
Retry the previously unsuccessful command

If Netscape, then:

Go to "Edit" on the top menu and click
Go down and click on "Preferences"
Click the "+" symbol next to "Advanced"
Click "Cache"
Click "Clear Memory Cache"
Click "Clear Disk Cache"

Retry the previously unsuccessful command

5. Will not accept username and password.
